So for those of you who feel that life is dull, or that the holiday is just the same boring set of rituals over and over again, you might consider a Klingon Christmas Carol as performed in Chicago. It’s real, and they actually performed it. Unfortunately, I only learned about just now so for those of you in Chicago, the last performance has already passed. It apparently even comes with English translation for those you who are Klingon impaired. (Not that I speak it either mind you….)
And in other news of plays about the Fantastic, yet another actor has been hurt in Spiderman: Turn Out The Dark. Apparently they keep having actors FALL FROM THE CEILING UP TO THIRTY FEET DOWN. The latest news is that it is canceled pending a ‘safety’ review. Yes, let’s see…yes….gravity still there…still hazardous. Also, if you’ll recall when I brought this up before I was dubious but willing to give it a chance…well, the chance is gone. The reviews are in and it is apparently terrible, including the music. Ce la vi. Pierce Venacular was right to be horrified it seems.
And last, but not least, it is Festivus, which means it is time for the Traditional Airing of Grievances.
There are too many to list in the time I have, but I’ll give it a small try….
*November 2010 for proving that Idiocracy is real.
*The remake of the Buffy Movie without Joss Whedon
*Taking the best american Anime ever made (Avatar) and giving it to M. NIGHT SHAYMALAN! WTF?!
*Transformers 2 being successful financially even though it did not have a working script.
*The remake of the Buffy Movie without Joss Whedon
*B.Lo forever scarring my mind by finding the Avatar (no the other Avatar) Fleshlight.
*Whoever thought making an Avatar Fleshlight was a good idea.
*Syfylus for canceling SGU.
*Syfylus for canceling Caprica.
*Caprica for prequel-ling way too early instead of having it be what Blood and Iron is now actually going to be.
*Skyline for not living up to its full potential, which was huge.
*Jim Butcher for making me wait a damn year to find out what the hell happened after the end of Changes in the Dresden Files.
*Leverage, which is an otherwise excellent show for using an EMP Gun. REALLY? Look, Warehouse 13 can pull that stuff…you guys? Stick to being con men, which is what you do well, leave Mr. Wizard on Acid to other shows.
*NASA for building up our hopes with a press conference only to have it dashed as garbage science by the rest of the scientific community.
*The remake of the Buffy Movie without Joss Whedon.
Have a Merry Christmas and other sundry holidays (though I think most of those have passed now….)
